Surreal Earring
Client:
Virzi Jewellery
Surreal Earring translates a nose and lips into a compact sculptural form, drawing inspiration from Dalí’s perfume bottle sculpture. Reduced to these two facial fragments, the piece condenses Surrealism into an object that feels at once familiar, dislocated, and intensely graphic.
The composition relies on the tension between recognition and abstraction: the nose rises in a sharp, vertical line, while the lips introduce softness, volume, and sensuality. Together, they create a small-scale sculpture that sits close to the ear while retaining a strong visual identity.
Cast in bronze using the lost-wax technique and finished in 18k gold plating, the piece preserves a luminous surface that heightens its sculptural clarity. Worn as a stud, it transforms a fragment of the face into ornament — a jewel defined by wit, strangeness, and a refined surrealist presence.
