lounge chair
Elytra lounge chair continues the series’ dialogue with Brazilian modernist furniture: wood as structure, surface, and presence, held in direct relation to the body. Here, that inheritance is condensed into a more compact form, where the frame becomes both support and outline.
The wooden structure carries the memory behind the name elytra — the protective wing cases of beetles — but the reference is absorbed into the construction. It appears in the way the side curves rise, open, and return, giving the chair a sense of movement without abandoning its function.
The upholstery softens the object, giving the chair a more relaxed presence. It brings comfort and volume into a light interplay with the stronger lines of the design.
