seat no. 1

seat no. 1 from the Myth series distills the language of the Empire tradition into a compact furniture piece. metal lion-form legs anchor the structure, while the ebonized wood frame and black velvet seat set a controlled contrast between weight and softness.

references to the period and its dialogue with ancient Egypt are explicit, but not reproduced. they are reconfigured through gesture, proportion, and material.

the result is an object that exists between furniture and artifact, at once functional and symbolic.
